Exploring Australia: A Journey of Learning and Adventure

From 13th to 19th August 2025, a group of 16 enthusiastic students from Forms 3 to 5, accompanied by 2 dedicated English teachers, embarked on an enriching journey to Brisbane and the Gold Coast in Australia. This unforgettable trip was designed to immerse students in the local culture, enhance their English language skills, and provide unique experiences that blended education with adventure. From exploring Aboriginal heritage to engaging with wildlife and experiencing university life, each day offered new opportunities for learning and personal growth.

Upon arriving in Brisbane, we took a coach to the Minjunbal Aboriginal Cultural Centre to explore a well-preserved Aboriginal site and learn about its rich history  Our adventure continued at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, where we had the incredible experience of petting kangaroos and observing koalas, wombats, crocodiles, and other native Australian wildlife. In the evening, students were welcomed into their host families, where they began practicing ‘real-life’ English with them. They were treated to fabulous dinners and students also helped in preparing delicious lunchboxes for the days ahead.

 On the second day, students attended a full-day language course at Shafston International College, guided by a friendly Australian teacher. She shared invaluable insights about Australian history, culture, and wildlife, enriching our understanding of the country.

During the weekend, we visited a bustling local market, explored the expansive Queensland Museum of Natural History, and discovered several famous tourist attractions. We also enjoyed some leisurely shopping for souvenirs to bring back to our families and friends.

On the day before our flight home, we toured the prestigious University of Queensland and participated in an all-day course on ‘Innovative Thinking,’ led by a doctoral student. The guided campus tour and lunch at the canteen sparked students excitement for studying abroad and thinking about the freedom of university life in the future.

As the saying goes, “You never want to miss anything you’ll regret.” This valuable opportunity abroad was one students will cherish forever, filled with lessons and memories that will stay with them long after they return home.

 澳洲探索之旅：學習是快樂歷險

2025年8月13日至19日，16名中三至五學生，在兩位英語老師帶領下，前往澳洲布里斯班和黃金海岸。難忘的旅途中，學生真實感受澳洲文化，增進了英語能力，也大大開拓了視野。探索原住民文化，親近野生動物，體驗大學生活……每一天也是非凡的學習和成長。

抵達布里斯班後，我們乘坐旅遊巴往Minjunbal原住民文化中心，身處保存完好的原住民遺址，了解其豐富的歷史。隨後，我們到了可倫賓野生動物園，撫摸袋鼠、觀察樹熊、袋熊和鱷魚等澳洲野生動物。傍晚，學生們入住寄宿家庭，開始用英語和本地人「真實地」交流生活。寄宿家庭不僅悉心為他們準備豐盛的晚餐，還有接下來幾天的美味午餐。

第二天，學生們在Shafston國際學院參加了一整天語言課程。和藹的澳洲老師講解了澳洲歷史、文化與野生動物。

週末，我們去逛熱鬧的本地市場，到訪了昆士蘭自然歷史博物館，並遊覽了幾處著名景點。我們還購買手信，送給親友。

返程前一天，我們參觀了著名的昆士蘭大學，並參加了由博士生帶領的「創新思維」全日課程。校園導覽和飯堂午餐激發了我們對未來留學生活和大學自由的嚮往。

不要錯過，不要後悔。這次寶貴的海外經歷已成永恆回憶，也是我們未來豐盛收穫的種子。
